As Clearcast was founded by and continues to be funded by the UK’s major commercial broadcasters, our board is made up of representatives from those organisations.
So far, so standard. But in the same way that that Clearcast isn’t your average business, this isn’t your average board of directors.
With expertise drawn from across the world of commercial broadcasting, our board has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing advertisers, agencies and broadcasters.
And because the board members hail from different —sometimes competing — broadcasters, as a whole the board has a range of perspectives that’s as comprehensive as it is diverse.
That’s good for us. By extension, it’s good for the clients we work with, too.
Mark White has been Chairman of Clearcast since January 2008. He has also previously been Managing Director at Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd., originally joining the channel in 1996, well before launch in March 1997. Prior to joining Channel 5, he worked for Thames Television and the satellite broadcaster UK Gold, where he held the position of Sales Controller.
Director of Systems and Development
Jeff has been in TV Advertising for 36 years. He created the first TV Ad Sales Operations unit in Granada TV in the 1990's and helped develop the first automated booking systems. Jeff moved to Agency TV System provider Donovan Data Systems in early 2000. In 2005 Jeff joined Sky Media as Director of systems and development.
Head of Commercial Broadcasting & VOD Ops
Having started his media broadcasting career at ITV, Steve now heads up operational responsibilities for commercial content transmissions at Sky. This encompasses all commercial, sponsorship, VOD, teleshopping and AdSmart airtime. During his tenure Steve has helped Sky grow its represented channel line-up from a modest 4 to now in excess of 200 channels.
Director of Broadcast Operations
Helen is responsible for all ITV’s content supply chain from the point of commissioning through to distribution to the customer and beyond. Helen also sits on several Boards including the DPP (where she is the Delivery, Storage and Distribution Lead), Clearcast (which she set up in collaboration with other Broadcasters) , ISAN UK and also the D3&4 Board.
Head of Advertising Content Compliance
Peter’s responsible for ITV`s broadcast and non-broadcast Advertising & Commercial Partnerships Regulation. He’s a Director of the Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice, and a member of the ASA Industry Advisory Panel (IAP). Peter was Chair of the Clearcast Copy Committee from July 2009 until December 2016.
Head of Airtime Management and Ops
Tanya's responsible for leading Channel 4’s airtime management and ad ops division, helping the broadcaster maximise ad revenue from its commercial airtime. She looks after airtime management, inventory, VOD and online operations. Previously Head of Airtime and Sales Ops at Channel 5, she's also worked in Adsales and in TV planning and buying at two major agencies.
Kim started her TV career in 1977 working for Southern TV. From there she moved to TVS, then Laser and in 1992 joined the team at Channel 4. She now manages their Traffic Team who are responsible for advertising and sponsorship copy for C4, UKTV, Box+ and BT Sport. Kim is currently the Copy Committee Chair at Clearcast and is a member of The Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice (BCAP).
Director of Operations
Martin joined Sky in 2011 having previously worked in the automotive industry and latterly Management Consulting. His led the development of Sky AdSmart, the first tailored advertising solution for linear TV in the UK and was appointed as Director of Operations in 2016, responsible for all operational aspects of the linear and non-linear business.
