Major CopyCentral Upgrade: 2nd Round

Yesterday evening we rolled out another exciting change to the way CopyCentral works. We’ve been listening to feedback from across the industry to help shape the future development of CopyCentral. Once again we’ve made a lot of tweaks under the hood and from the Clearcast side which you won’t be able to see but will help speed up the copy clearance process. What you will notice are some changes to the ‘Feedback’ page.

 

Firstly, we’ve made the submission status in the top right of the page more noticeable. This way you can tell at a glance whether the submission is awaiting your action or whether it’s with your Clearcast contact. Secondly, the buttons beneath the comment box have changed. When a submission is ‘With agency’, i.e. awaiting your action, here’s what the options are and what they mean:

UPLOAD FILE

If you want to attach substantiation or a revised script click this button. If you attach a revised script the submission will automatically return to your Clearcast contact’s inbox – you’ll notice the submission status in the top right change. If you attach a substantiation document or reference file then the submission will remain as ‘With agency’. Your Clearcast contact will not be aware of the file at this stage. The submission is awaiting your action, whether that’s writing a comment to explain what the file is, uploading further files, or a revised script.

POST COMMENT

This is greyed out until you start typing a comment. Once you’ve finished your comment pressing ‘Post Comment’ will save the comment to the submission. You’ll notice that the status in the top right still says ‘With agency’. Your Clearcast contact will not be aware of your comment at this stage. The submission is still awaiting your action, whether that’s writing further comments, uploading files, or adding a revised script.

RETURN TO CLEARCAST

Once you have posted your comments and/or uploaded files and are ready for your Clearcast contact to take a look at the submission again click the ‘Return to Clearcast’ button. This will return the submission to your Clearcast contact’s inbox. You’ll notice the status in the top right of the page will have changed.

WORKFLOW

This isn’t a change, but here’s a clarification of the workflow for two scenarios. If you have substantiation to upload and a revised script, upload the substantiation first, then post a comment letting your contact know what you’ve uploaded and alerting them to any changes in the script, finally upload the revised script. This will return the submission to your contact.
If you have substantiation to upload but no revised script, upload the substantiation file first. Then post your explanatory comment, and once that has been posted click the ‘Return to Clearcast’ button. This will return the submission to your contact.
