Group Captain David Glaister, OStJ, PhD, MB, BS, FFOM, RAF(Retd), Whittingham Professor and Consultant in Aviation Medicine.

David spent his career  at the RAF Institute of Aviation Medicine, Farnborough, researching the physiology of long-duration acceleration, and then running a helmet testing facility and the Institute’s Biodynamics Division. Publications comprise over 250 research papers and contributions to Aviation Medicine, Butterworth-Heinemann, 3rd Ed. 1999, Scientific Foundations of Trauma, ibid. 1997 and the Oxford Textbook of Medicine. Appointments included the chairing of British, European and NATO committees concerned with protective headgear and Biodynamics.
