The clearance process and the BACC Copy Committee
The BACC’s process for clearing advertising copy is well-established and tried and tested.
Before comments are fed back to agencies, each script is read by the Copy Group Executive or manager responsible and is then read a second time by either another executive or manager. The system ensures that a minimum of two people see every script and that any potential problems under the BCAP Code are picked up. During the process the BACC also decides on the need to ask for more information or for substantiation and on whether the script and any associated substantiation needs to be considered by one of the BACC’s independent consultants.
