A view from a Copy Committee Member
Advertising has been described as many things from the “greatest art form of the 21st century” to “the modern substitute for argument, its function to make the worse appear the better.” H G Wells called advertising “legalised lying”. The fact is that since joining the industry almost six years ago I have been captivated and enthralled and constantly awed by its creativity and power and, now, I find myself invited into the heady ranks of the BACC Copy Committee.
