Standardisation of Clock Numbers
Clearcast are embarking on a number of projects to build our reputation as a customer focused, professional, innovative and efficient organisation. Systems are core to Clearcast's future and we are proposing two changes regarding the use of our digital delivery system and unique clock numbers.
Use of Clearcast's digital delivery system - Our system is designed to be a method of communication between agencies and Clearcast and is a record of the approval process for each submission. We are working towards 100% utilisation of our system making the copy clearance workflow a more effective, efficient and seamless process.
With that in mind we are proposing, with effect from 1st January 2009, that all advertising agencies submitting pre-production and post-production material are online users enabling submissions direct into the system rather than by e-mail for ingestion by Clearcast.
Our statistics, in fact, show that 80% of agencies are already online users and 60% of those agencies are digitally uploading.
Standardisation of clock numbers - With effect from 1st January 2009, we are implementing the standardisation of clock numbers of finished commercials for entry into our system. The clock number, which is the unique identification number applied to finished commercials, is used by Clearcast and the broadcasters throughout the compliance and transmission process. The clock number will be 15 characters long and should follow the format below:-
Agency Code (3 alpha characters)
Terminator /
Client Code (2 alpha characters)
Product Code (2 alpha characters)
Unique Id (3 numeric characters)
Terminator /
Duration (3 numeric characters)
Example XYZ/ABCD001/030
Clearcast's system will also be modified to prevent entry of clock numbers for finished commercials that do not follow the 15 character format.
Please remember that your agency code is assigned by Clearcast and should be used as the three character pre-fix for your clock numbers on finished commercials.
If you need further information about these proposed changes, want to register to use our digital delivery system, want to know your agency code or book a system training session, please contact Danny Turner Clearcast's System Administrator on danny.turner@clearcast.co.uk.
