Environmental Claims
As ever more concern is expressed about the effect of
climate change and the need to take care of the
environment, more advertisers wish to promote
their "green credentials". This is a laudable thing to
do and companies are using various techniques to
reduce carbon emissions, to recycle and to encourage
better consideration for the environment in general.
Advertisers need, however, to ensure that great care is taken in making claims about their achievements when it comes to green claims. Both CAP and ISBA have in recent months issued guidance to the advertising industry in relation to environmental claims.
