Dr Mark Ide

Dr Mark Ide has joined the team as a dental consultant; he was appointed in January.  Mark works as a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry within the Dental Institute at King’s College London and is head of the Department of Periodontology.  He deals mostly with patients with advanced gum disease and associated problems and provides advanced restorative care and implant treatment to patients at the Dental Institute.  Mark is also involved in teaching dental students and specialist trainees and supervises a number of research projects.  He has been involved in clinical dental research since 1991 and works in specialist referral practice as a “real” dentist.

 

Having qualified in the late 1980s Mark worked in oral and maxillofacial surgery before specialising in Periodontology and restorative dentistry, training to specialist and consultant level.  His speciality requires a good understanding of research as a basis for evidence-based practice as well as aspects of behavioural management along with an understanding of prevention, pathology and technical procedures.

 

 

Suzie Farrell
Suzie Farrell qualified as a dentist in 1997.  Suzie's hospital posts were followed by a PhD, completed in 2002, investigating associations between maternal periodontitis (gum disease) and adverse pregnancy outcome and has published and presented widely in this area of research.  In addition, Suzie has teaching experience with undergraduate dental students, post-graduates and Dental Practitioners.  Suzie has worked in dental practice at all stage of her career and is currently a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at King's Dental Institute in London and a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Periodontics.
