Advertise Us – Clearcast’s competition winner announced
Clearcast today announces the winner of their Advertise Us competition. The £5000 prize money will go to Dan Zell and Dan Gearing for their ad “Protecting your TV”. Dan and Dan work at the advertising agencies RKCR/Y&R and DLKW Lowe respectively.
Entrants were invited to make a 30 second tv ad to raise awareness of the company’s important role in the advertising industry and the competition generated interest across creative agencies and film schools alike.
Chris Mundy, MD of Clearcast says: “We’re really delighted with Dan & Dan’s entry to our Advertise Us competition. We wanted to challenge entrants to think about Clearcast differently and to convey our role in the industry in a way that would engage the public. Dan & Dan’s ad does exactly what we asked – it taps into the industry’s creativity and gets across our message.”

Clearcast is the company responsible for the pre-transmission examination and clearance of television advertisements. As part of their licensing agreements with Ofcom, broadcasters are required to clear advertising before it is broadcast and advertisements transmitted on virtually all English language UK terrestrial and satellite channels are submitted to Clearcast for approval. Clearcast is owned and funded by six commercial broadcasters all of whom are represented on Clearcast’s board. A number of other commercial broadcasters also entrust their advertising pre-clearance to Clearcast.
